We were honored to work with Canadian Mother Supreme Von Dutch for our 2nd workshop to be hosted online in preparation for our Doll Ball 4! The workshop was open to the public!
Canadian Mother Von Dutch taught the key elements that define, but also elevate a walkers performance in the category of “face” in ballroom. She explained the importance of creating a moment for your audience to indulge in alongside you as a walker.
Thank you Mother Supreme Von Dutch for believing in the growing #jamaicanballroomscene and building this connection with us.

For our last workshop we hosted legends from the NYC ballroom scene, Iman Hill and Fatoumata brought down by Black Trans Travel Fund to stand in for Leggoh Johvera. The dolls were flown down to Kingston to teach queer Jamaicans what they know about ballroom culture in our “Ballroom 101” class and got the attendees ready to compete the next day for Doll Ball 3!
